Trinity Catholic's major source of revenue is derived from Tuition, fees and fundraising. For 2006-2007, income from tuition and fees covered only 87% of the school's operating costs. In order to keep tuition affordable, alternative sources of income, including the Annual Appeal Campaign and other fundraising efforts, helped to offset the remaining expenses of the school's operations. Specifically designated gifts provide enhancements to our academic programs and building facilities.
We depend on our Stamford Catholic, St. Mary, Central Catholic and Trinity alumni, as well as current families and Friends of Trinity to keep our school in a position of financial stability so that we can provide the best educational opportunities for all our students. You can support TCHS in several ways.
- Gifts of Cash - allow us to strengthen for the benefit of all our students. Gifts may be in the form of cash, check, credit card payment or a pledge. Gifts of cash can eliminate or educe tax on up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
- Gifts of Stock - When Securities have increased in value, you would normally transfer them directly to TCHS rather than sell them. When owned for more than a year, securities used to fund a gift can be deductible for income tax purposes at full market value, not just their original cost. Gifts of securities are deductible in amounts up to 30% of AGI. Securities that have decreased in value can be sold and all or a portion of the proceeds can be used as a charitable gift. In addition to the contribution deduction, it also creates a loss you may be able to deduct.
- Matching Gifts - Many companies match contributions that their employees make to non-profit institutions such as Trinity Catholic High School. Most matches are on a 1:1 bases, but some companies match even higher. Upon making your own gift, you may request a matching gift from your company.
