COMPUTER APPLICATIONS WEIGHT: 3 ½ CREDIT
GRADES 9, 10
Required of ALL Freshmen & Sophomores

This course is designed to introduce the student to various computer applications, which will provide a knowledge base for using computers in everyday living. Using Microsoft software, the student will learn the basics of spreadsheets, databases, communications, drawing and desktop publishing. This course is primarily project oriented.

ACCOUNTING WEIGHT: 4 1 CREDIT
GRADE 12

Heavy emphasis will be placed on the use of computers in this course.


Pre-requisite: Indication of competency in previous math course based on achievement in this field, plus the written recommendation of former math teacher.

This course is recommended for Seniors interested in pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or for those students who have an interest in starting or running their own business. The basics of accounting for sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations will be covered. Heavy emphasis will be placed on the use of computers in this course. Topics covered will include: general journal and general ledger entry, preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and taxation through the use of spreadsheets and accounting software.
