We are pleaseed to introduce Family Conection from Naviance, a Web-based service designed especially for Students and parents of Trinity Catholic High School.  Family Connection is a comprehensive website that you can use to help in making decisions about colleges.  Family Connection is linked with Counselor's Office, a service that we use in our office to track and analyze data about college plans, so it provides up-to-date information that's specific to our school.

NAVIANCE

Naviance is a web-based resource which supports the college planning and application process. The Guidance Department utilizes Naviance for all college process needs. There are two important components to Naviance. Students and parents have access to the Family Connection component, which is found on the web. Guidance Counselors can access student information through the Counselor Office component. Parents and students will have separate accounts for this site. Each will receive an access code which they use to create a personal account. All accounts are secure and can only be viewed by the student, parents, and counselors. The code, which can only be used once, is random and alphanumeric for security reasons. When the codes are received, parents and students go on the web to: www.connection.naviance.com/trinitycathct. The code is entered in the New User box, then the directions which appear on-screen should be followed. On subsequent visits, signing in is done in the Returning User box. From this page an individual can do the following things:

1: complete surveys

2: search colleges

3: compare colleges

4: access links to third-party resources, including: NCAA Clearinghouse, the

     Common Application, a free SAT test preparation site, etc.

5: track application deadlines

6: see a schedule of college visits and sign up for them (see below)

7: access information about individual colleges (see below)

8: visit college web sites

Naviance will enable Trinity Catholic High school to establish enhanced collaboration among counselors, students, and parents. Communication among these groups will be able to occur directly through Naviance. Accurate and complete records about student choices will be available through this web site. Additionally, within several years, realistic assessments of your adolescent’s chances of admission at colleges where prior graduates have applied will be available. Presently counselors have the ability to indicate the expected difficulty level of each college chosen.
